Culture

Culture is a part of everyone's life, whether we choose to express it in our daily lives or to just be aware of its presence. American culture has a lot of things different from my culture. The first thing is the language because my first language is Chinese. Therefore, I need to become fluent in English to write, read and communicate with other people. The second thing is the festivals; in American people celebrate Martin Luther King Jr day, independent day, St. Patrick day and so on.  However, Chinese has more festivals to celebrate, such as Mid-Autumn festival, Lantern festival, and dragon boat festival and so on. The finally thing is the family culture, the family life is very important for every Chinese. Chinese families are very close together. Children tend to stay with their parents even after they get married and have children of their own, so that you often see three or four generations living under the same roof. But in American, most of the children when they over 18 years old, they just want to move out from their home and parents to live with their friend.  So, those are the difference between America culture and Chinese culture I observed.
